The Alaska Marine Life Center, the first Alaska main aquarium, and the only permanent marine mammal rehabilitation facility in Alaska, are located on the shores of the Bay of Resurrection in Seward, Alaska, United States. It has been open since May 1998 and is dedicated to understanding and maintaining the integrity of Alaska's marine ecosystem through research, rehabilitation, conservation and public education. It is the only facility in the world dedicated exclusively to the study of the northern marine environment, which was initially designed to combine research, general education and visitor components. The Alaska Center for Maritime Navigation generates and shares scientific knowledge to promote understanding and supervision of Alaska's marine ecosystems.
The Center serves as a private non-profit research institution and public aquarium, with wildlife response and education programs. They generate and exchange scientific knowledge to promote understanding and supervision of Alaska's marine ecosystems. The Center is a certified member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the Marine Zoological Gardens and Aquarium Association. The world-class 115,000 sq ft facility is built with funds from the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill and helps to remind visitors - in a very interactive way - of the importance of understanding and maintaining the safety of Alaska's oceans. The construction of the Center has cost about $ 37.5 million in research and rehabilitation funds, some 105 full-time staff and volunteer and trainee staff.
See the life in front of your eyes: See the Steller Sea Lion climbing the windows under the water, the puffer diving into a natural environment carefully, and the harbor snails resting on the rocky shores. Education at the Alaska Center for Marine Life
Discovery education programs are developed according to Alaska's scientific content and performance standards and national science education standards. Programs are offered throughout the year at the Alaska Marine Life Center in the form of day and night programs. Awareness programs can be offered in schools in Anchorage, Mat-Su and Kenai Peninsula. Distance education programs worldwide can be delivered to sites with interactive video equipment.

How to get there
By car: Proceed south to Seward, continue on Seward Highway, which runs to 3rd Street. The Alaska Marine Life Center at 301rd Railway Station, at the end of 3rd Street (zero mile from Seward Highway), is on the waterfront of Resurrection Bay .
By train: The Seward Railway Depot is located at 410 Street Harbor. From there, you can walk to the center or take the Seward bus.
