The White Desert in the Farafra oasis of the western Egypt

It looks like the Arctic or the icy Siberian desert, but it's a hot white desert that was once submerged in sea water.

The White Desert is located in the Farafra oasis in western Egypt, and it is a treasure of wonders unique in Egypt if not in the world, and people, who wander in these western lands often feel that they are visiting another planet, Mars, for example, even though they are 5 hours away by car from Cairo city.

The White Desert embraces some unusual rock formations, some call it “the chicken and the mushroom.” The fossils scattered on its white land are a clear indication of climate change in that region throughout history, and its rocks date back to the Cretaceous period, which dates back to 70 million years ago. As a result of the inundation of the Tethys Sea that area.
