The Kola Deep Well is the deepest hole ever made by humans

 .

It took 20 years to drill it, and it is a scientific project conducted in the Soviet Union to explore the Earth's crust, which is the deepest exploration well in the world.

The goal of the project was to reach a depth of 15,000 meters, but work stopped at a depth of 12,262 meters. However, this depth represents only a third of the thickness of the earth's crust

The downtime is attributed to the high temperature of 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit), which means that drilling below 15 km is not possible because work will be at 300 degrees Celsius (572 degrees Fahrenheit).

This experience made it possible to reveal many secrets, including:

1. Discovering that the earth’s crust resembles an onion in its layers and reaches a thickness of 40 kilometers,

2. Discovering deposits rich in gold and diamonds at a depth of 9,450 meters

3. The discovery of huge quantities of methane (which necessitated a reconsideration of the theory of the biological origin of oil and gas)

4. The discovery of a sample of lunar soil at a depth of between 3 and 4 km with the same characteristics as the soil with which a spacecraft returned from the moon, (and this reinforces the hypothesis that the moon and the earth were one thing at one time)

5. This project enabled scientists to find out what happened on planet Earth more than 2.5 billion years ago.

6. Discovering evidence that life on our planet began at least 1.5 billion years ago. (Thanks to finding microfossils known as "plankton", of a group of plants and marine cells)

The head of a research center in the Kola Peninsula denied rumors that the main reason for stopping the project was hearing human voices underground, or that it was the goblins that stopped the work. So that this well became known as the story of the well of Hell.

Because the sounds they were hearing were terrifying and terrible, it turned out that they were caused by the deep roar of the impact and magma of the earth's interior...some described it with the sound of the inhale and exhale of the planet Earth."
