This is Burano, in the Veneto region of Italy. It's less well known than Venice, but it sure is fun to look at! Burano is famous for its lace-making and colorful buildings, and historically Burano was and still is a fishermen's village.

It is said that when the fishermen returned from the sea, they could not recognize their homes because of the fog, so they started painting them in different colors.

And the splendor of the island and its colors increases the system followed by the officials. The residents have to submit a request to the local government to paint their homes, and there is a list of permitted colors, and others that are prohibited from being used, so that Burano, with those bright colors, looks like a dream for photography lovers.
