The hanging temple: a thousand-year-old architectural marvel!
The Hanging Temple, also known as Xuankongsi #悬空寺 Monastery, is located on a cliff near Heng Mountain in Hunyuan County, #Datong #大同, #Shanxi #山西 Province (northern China). China).
Built in 491, this ancient architecture is notable for its location on a high precipice, supported by crossbeams half-embedded in rocks as a foundation.
It is also the only temple to receive the rituals of three traditional Chinese religions at the same time: Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.
