The second largest floating photovoltaic power plant in China with a capacity of 202MW is about to be put into operation

On December 21, 2022, the circulating water tank of the Liaocheng Power Generation Branch of Shandong Electric Power Co., Ltd. of the National Energy Group is located in Tangyi Township, Dongchangfu District, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, China. The company used more than 298 hectares of water in the reservoir to invest 960 million yuan to build a photovoltaic power generation project with an installed capacity of 202 megawatts, achieving the perfect combination of industrial water and photovoltaic power generation. It is known that this project is the second largest floating photovoltaic power station in China. The water surface is flexibly connected by floating arches, and more than 370,000 photovoltaic panels are installed.
The project is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of this year, which can save 80,000 tons of coal each year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 200,000 tons. It will promote green and low-carbon energy transition, and has good economic and environmental benefits, conducive to the development of green energy and environmental revitalization.
