A strange phenomenon in Romania.. What is the story of “living rocks”?
Strangely shaped rocks that grow and “reproduce” formed the focus of attention for visitors to Romania, and remained a mystery to many, especially with regard to their size, which continues to grow.

The rocks of "Trovant" were known as "alive", as they began in the form of pebbles and grow by about two inches every thousand years, and they are unique mineral structures that simulate the life of plants and mammals.
And the British newspaper “Daily Mail” stated that the strange swollen stones “grow in the same way as plant tissues grow, and give birth to new stones, just like animals.”
And "Trovant" was found in a small Romanian village called "Custesti", where it looks like blown bubbles made of rocks, which vary greatly in size, as some extend several feet in diameter, while others are small enough to be carried in the palm of the hand.
The newspaper explained that “Trovant does not simply appear from the ground; It is found in a mass of sand from different geological ages that reach natural outcrops or in sand quarries, and it grows slowly over time in the presence of rain water.”
The rocks consist mainly of a hard stony core surrounded by sand that forms the crust. The minerals in the rainwater form an internal reaction that increases the pressure inside, which causes the rocks to grow and multiply.
Although these rocks are "not alive," locals and tourists have described them as "alive" because of the way they seem to change with time.
