Why do crocodiles swallow stones?
Sometimes crocodiles eat or rather swallow whole stones, even large ones...., this habit shared with other animals including some birds and seals is due to the fact that the stones in them are called "stomach stones" because once they enter the stomach they help tear the food apart, thus facilitating the digestion process!
