San Pedro... One of the Most Documented Ghost Stories

Of all the haunted houses in the world, the San Pedro House in California remains one of the most haunting cases, one that has baffled experts and terrified everyone who has heard of it. Here, the shadows weren't just illusions, nor were the voices merely echoing in the night... Rather, there was a mysterious entity refusing to leave, haunting anyone who tried to live within its walls. This is the true story of Jackie Hernandez, the young mother who found herself face to face with a drowned ghost screaming from the depths of death: "This is my house... You have no place here."

After Jackie moved into the small house in San Pedro, she began to feel, from the first night, that something was watching her. Stealthy glances followed her steps in every room, and cold breaths fanned her face in the dark. She tried to convince herself that it was just post-breakup stress, until she began hearing rustling in the kitchen at night and slow footsteps on the ceiling. She thought they were mice or just her imagination, but over time, the sounds turned into terrifying nightmares. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw an old, pale-faced man wandering down the hallway.

The terrifying thing was that when she woke up, she found him standing outside her bedroom door, staring at her before he vanished into thin air, leaving a suffocating chill filling the space. The following days were hell. Objects would rise into the air of their own accord and then crash to the ground.

Doors would slam shut as if someone was holding something back. Walls would groan with muffled sounds as if creatures were crawling inside. Even her friend Susan, who hadn't believed her at first, ran out of the house in panic after seeing coffee cups floating before her eyes and crashing violently onto the table. As for the priest Jackie had summoned, he only made a short tour and then left quickly, his eyes fixed on the ground, muttering that there was nothing in the house. His pale, trembling face betrayed the fact that he had seen what he dared not describe.

One night, as Jackie was getting ready for bed, she heard ragged breathing coming from her children's room. She ran, terrified, to find the old ghost sitting next to her children's bed. His eyes were blazing with anger, and his face looked more like a rotting corpse than human. When she approached, he suddenly disappeared, leaving behind a mysterious red spot on her little girl Samantha's forehead, as if an invisible hand had pressed down on her head.

At that moment, she realized that what was haunting her was not an illusion, but an evil entity that wanted her children. In August 1989, Jackie sought help from expert Barry Tough and his team. They placed cameras throughout the house, and what they observed was enough to turn any skeptic into a believer: objects moving by themselves, muffled knocking sounds, sudden musty smells, and shadows moving quickly in the hallways. While the team was inspecting the attic, a member named Jeff climbed up with the camera, but the place was dark, stuffy, and covered in cobwebs.

Suddenly, he felt a strong slap that knocked the camera out of his hand. He tried to pick it up, but a mysterious force pushed him so hard that he almost fell from the top of the attic. When he returned, his face was pale and his voice trembling as he recounted seeing moving balls of light and the ghost of an old man floating in front of him, the same old man Jackie had described before. The events didn't stop there. In one session, the mysterious entity attacked a team member with a rope, wrapping it around his neck until he nearly suffocated in front of everyone.

Other times, Jackie herself was beaten and strangled without anyone touching her. Each time, the team was unable to do anything except document the occurrence, as the house seemed to hate humans and reject their presence. After weeks of terror, Jackie could no longer bear it and left the house and moved with her two children to a modest plot in Weldon.

However, she didn't completely escape, as the terrifying phenomena recurred there as well. S he was forced to seek the help of another team who conducted a session using a Ouija board.

There, the entity revealed its identity as a man named Herman, born in San Pedro in 1912 and drowned in San Pedro Bay in 1930. "Why? Why won't you leave me?" Jackie cried out, trembling in the darkness. His voice came to her, hoarse as if emerging from the depths of the water: "They never found T-T's body... I was never buried... My spirit has been trapped here since that day." Then his voice froze her blood: "This is my home... You have no place here."

A moment of heavy silence fell, before the cameras carried by the Cunard team began flashing automatically, as if something was trying to record its presence. The entire place shook violently, causing them to flee the trailer in panic, dragging Jackie and her children out. Since that night, the San Pedro house has remained deserted, but neighbors swear they can still hear a disjointed voice in the darkness saying, "This is my home... You have no place here."

In 1997, a documentary film based on these true events, titled "An Unknown Encounter," was produced. Was the San Pedro house haunted by a lost spirit searching for an unfound grave, or was what Jackie and the search team experienced merely an inexplicable collective nightmare? And you... would you dare to spend one night in that dark house?
