This app for middle learners is based on Raymond Murphy's best-selling grammar book of the same name with an interface that looks clear.

There are 145 units of grammatical explanations and rules. The free version has fewer topics, but you can try it using the past and current tenses guide, interactive exercises, and study guide.

Pricing increases as units progress. It may seem expensive but can be useful given the reputation of the name behind the app.

Mad Libs is a common word game and grammar. At the heart of the game are books and apps. Another player prompts for a list of words instead of blanks in the story. Different exercises in the game motivate you to insert parts of speech into a sentence.

There's nothing stopping you from setting your own rules and creating sentences. The game is easy and anyone of any age can play it. It's fun for everyone and a great educational exercise. The Teacher's Guide is also available on the site if you want to move it to the classroom.

 5-Johnny Grammar Word Challenge

The British Council offers a wide range of apps to help you improve your English. The Johnny Grammar Word Challenge is free and fun. The 60-second tests will test common vocabulary, spelling and grammar tests, and help you improve your conversational English.

The tests cover 12 grammatical topics (such as prepositions, irregular verbs, conjugations, etc.) and take you to language uses about foods, restaurants, travel, small conversations, hobbies and more. It is a nice educational tool
