Cannúa is the first 18-room boutique hotel in Colombia, located in a protected forest in Antioquia, outside Colombia's second largest city of Medellin.

This unique haven is the brainchild of Santiago Giraldo, Brian Shawn and Nathan Rodgers, inspired by the spirit of Colombia's renewal and recognizing the need for authentic nature-based tourism experiences outside Medellín in the Antioqui countryside. The 18 rooms offer a holistic approach to development and hospitality, offering original experiences that focus on curiosity, re-communication, relaxation and participation.

Guests at this 27-acre mountain resort have a unique opportunity to explore the Medellin countryside, one of the most biologically diverse and most moderate areas in the world, while staying in great accommodation.

The 8 private cabins and 10 rooms at Cannúa offer sweeping views of Valle de San Nicolas and combine locally influenced beauty with modern comforts, while exceptional on-site and off-site experiences are available.

Guests can take a walk around the Hispanic hiking trails, make great bird-watching trips, go to the spa after a morning yoga session, enjoy a cup of locally grown coffee, visit a community farm or attend a class.

In order to become free of waste, Cannúa will use rainwater through the on-site water treatment system and implement a waste management system.

The hotel is built using sustainable-resource bamboo and ground-based compressed earth blocks from the soil of the residence. The plant will also plant two acres of organic gardens and food forests to provide its own restaurant and work with local organic farmers for components that can not be produced on site.
