This mysterious pyramid is located in "Van Austerlitz" surrounded by gardens near Utrecht. What is his story?
In 1804, the French General "Auguste de Marmont" established an army camp in this place.
Here he gathered a strong army within a few months to drive out the British in case they thought of repeating the 1799 offensive, and he ordered his soldiers to build the monument manually in the fall of 1804.
The French general was inspired by the design of the new monument from the pyramids of Giza, which Marmont saw during the campaign of his commander Emperor "Napoleon Bonaparte" to Egypt.
In 1805 Marmont moved with his forces to Germany and participated in the battle of "Austerlitz" in which Napoleon Bonaparte defeated the Emperors of Austria and Russia, "Alexander I and Franz II".
