This is what the Treehotel offers, a hotel located in Swedish Lapland, made up of some of the most eye-catching treehouses in the world, with a Biosphere. Latest "room".
Kent and Britta Lindvall, married couple and co-owners, created the Treehotel in 2010 with modern design and the environment in mind. Partnering with several Scandinavian designers, the Treehotel's initial rooms varied widely in design, from the Mirror Cube to the branch-filled bird's nest.
Continuing this trend with the eighth installment, Treehotel has teamed up with architects and designers from the Bjarke Ingels Group, also known as BIG, along with local bird experts, to create the Biosphere.
Accessed via a pedestrian suspension bridge, visitors can admire the black and gray interiors of the 34-square-meter suite while gazing out from the floor, wall, and ceiling windows of their winged neighbours.
For those who want a higher view of the forest and Luleå River, Biosphere includes a rooftop terrace with 360-degree scenery.
The Treehotel is located in the village of Harads in northern Sweden, just over an hour's drive from Luleå Airport. Lulea is about an hour's flight from Stockholm.
A night in the Biosphere for two guests, including breakfast, is due to open by May and will cost 12,000 SEK (about $1,200).
