According to the Unilad website, scientists discovered a missing continent called Zelandia after 375 years, and this eighth continent, which was part of the old Great continent known as the Great Southern Continent.

The idea of the missing continent dates back to the Roman era, and was partially discovered in the 16th century in 1642, and Dutch businessman Abel Tasman set out on a trip to explore this mysterious land known as Batira Ostralis in Latin, and Abel sailed from Andnsia to the southern island of New Zealand, but his meeting with Maori was difficult This led to a tragic confrontation and his departure without discovering the continent.

At the present time, geologists announced the discovery of Zelandia, which covers an area of 1.98 million square miles, and was hiding in front of everyone mainly underwater, and the continent of Zelandia was part of the old Great continent, Jendwana, which included West Antarctica and Eastern Australia more than 500 million years ago, and since About 105 million years have begun to separate in a way that we did not know yet, and during the separation the continent was overwhelmed underwater, as more than 94% of it remained underwater.

One of the scientists stressed the importance of this discovery and pointed out how the continent remained hidden under 6560 feet of water, and this discovery sheds light on the changing nature of the geography of the earth, and while the causes of separation are still unknown yet, the discovery emphasizes the unknown aspects and future capabilities of new discoveries.
