Did you know about the eighth continent hidden under the ice?

By chance, British researchers discovered a landmass more than 400 kilometers long, hidden beneath the Davis Strait (between Canada and Greenland).

The new continent arose during a long period of rifting on the sea floor between Greenland and the North American continent. It is 60 million years old. It is larger than other small continents, with a thickness of between 17 and 23 kilometers, while the average thickness of a small continent is usually between 5 and 25 km.
