Latest Studies: Ancient Egyptians of Moroccan Origin ✔️
The complete genome of an ancient Egyptian man buried in the Nuweirat area of Upper Egypt has been extracted and analyzed. Radiometric dating places him between 2855–2570 BCE, a transitional period between the Early and Old Kingdoms. The study, titled "Complete Genetic Lineage of an Ancient Egyptian from the Old Kingdom," is the first time the complete genome of a human who lived in Egypt approximately 4500–4800 years ago has been analyzed, specifically at the Nuweirat site in central Egypt.
DNA Analysis of 4,400-Year-Old Egyptian Skeleton Reveals Moroccan Ancestry
The analysis revealed that:
- 80% of his genetic origins trace back to ancient North African populations (particularly from Morocco).
- 20% of his ancestry is from Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq).
This provides clear evidence of a genetic mix between North Africa and the Near East in ancient Egypt.
