Have you heard of hair croissants?
A bakery in Thailand has sparked a wave of surprise and controversy with an unusual product dubbed the "pubic hair croissant." This croissant has gained widespread fame on social media due to its shocking appearance, as it looks like it's covered in thick strands of human hair. Because its appearance is so remarkably realistic, it has elicited mixed reactions, ranging from shock and disgust to intense curiosity to discover its secret.
Despite its bizarre appearance, the truth is quite different from what many believe.
The croissant is filled and topped with a layer of fresh white cream, then fine black threads are added, specially crafted to give it this striking look. Although the bakery hasn't revealed all the details of the recipe, it's believed that these threads are made from a type of algae or black seaweed, finely chopped. Their role isn't limited to appearance; they also add a distinctive, slightly salty note that balances the sweetness of the cream, creating an unusual taste experience. Each croissant sells for approximately two US dollars.
While some saw it as a clever innovation and others considered it the strangest pastry they had ever seen, this croissant proved that sometimes, being different doesn't require rare ingredients as much as it requires an idea capable of capturing people's attention and sparking their curiosity.
