Green forests and natural life have covered the Arabian Peninsula for millions of years. Today, however, the impact of this rich life has left no trace but oil and natural gas fields, covered by extended deserts.

But UAE engineer Abdullah Al Shehhi, executive director of the National Advisor's Office in Masdar, UAE, is seeking to restore natural wealth to the UAE through a series of ambitious projects that seek to radically change the climate.

The latest projects unveiled are a plan to withdraw two glaciers from the South Pole to the coast of Fujairah, the only emirate bordering the Arabian Sea.

In an interview with CNN, Al-Shihi said the technical studies and feasibility studies of the project are ready, and cooperation with a French company to test for the withdrawal of an iceberg to the coast of Australia. The first mountain in the first quarter of 2019 is expected to be towed by dedicated vessels.

"Once the glaciers enter the middle of the high humidity around the Arabian Sea, the water vapor will condense, causing an air depression to turn into a" spiral "that will attract clouds from the Arabian Sea to the center of the Arabian Sea.

Al-Shehhi added that the existence of the glaciers on the shores of Fujairah Emirate "is a great and unique tourist attraction" and will contribute to "transforming the UAE desert into a meadows within only ten years."
