The Headless Woman Who Fooled Thousands of Eyes in the Last Century! Part 2

She wasn't a medical miracle, nor a woman who lost her head and continued to live. Rather, she was one of the most ingenious optical illusions presented in circus and show performances in the 1930s.

Known as Olga, the headless girl, she was presented to the public as a miraculous medical case. Some of the stories accompanying the show even spoke of a tragic accident and a doctor who managed to keep her body alive using strange devices and tubes!

But the truth was even more intriguing than the story itself. The show relied on a meticulously crafted optical design that concealed the performer's head. It used mirrors, angles, lighting, a dark background, and the arrangement of tubes to create an optical illusion that made the eye interpret the scene as a headless body. The show became popular in the United States and Europe and was featured in the 1939 New York World's Fair.
